THE BETTER OFFERING

Genesis 4 vs 4b. And the Lord had respect unto Abel and to his offering. Vs 5, but unto cain and to his offering he had not respect.
Both of them offered good offering based on their specialization. Abel was a keeper of sheep so he offered first lings of his flock and of the fat. Cain was a tiller of the ground so he brought of the fruit of the ground.
Both of them offered good gift but there was something i believe was wrong with Cain. Listen, and the Lord had respect unto Abel first before his offering. Abel was a man his life pleased the Lord. God loves our gift but before our gift God is interested in the life of the giver of the gift.
How much have you being given to the activities and work of God, God is telling you this day i need you first not your gift. You can get applause from your pastors, congregation but you are insulting God with your gift if God had no respect unto Cain and his offerings it simply means cam was indirectly insulting God. A preacher will always say until you are save don't serve.
There was an error in the life of Cain, he may be a drunkard, he may be a lier etc but he believes his gift will cover his sins and make God to accept his offering.
No wonder Christ said in New Testament if you are about to give an offering and you remember you have a problem with your brother leave your offering their go and reconcile before giving.
There is a need for us to offer ourselves as offering before God, if we are accepted then we can offer our gifts. Gifts don’t go to heaven or hell but it is the giver. This is why God is interested in the giver unlike this generation pastors that prefers gift to the giver. The question now is how do we offer ourselves as offering to God, we do so by admitting we are sinners, we ask for mercy, we believe and accept THE PERFECT OFFERING(Jesus Christ personified) and then live out righteousness through Christ. When this is done we can now give our gifts.

Have a great day.
